Choki Dorji

Growing up in a farming family in one of the most remote villages in Bhutan, Choki started working as a trekking guide when he was a teenager. Realising how much he enjoyed meeting people from all over the world, Choki came to the UK to study English and soon after this he opened Blue Poppy, which now employs over 30 staff.

Our Offices

Living in both the eastern and western worlds, we feel we are able to understand and anticipate the needs of our guests while being able to design your trip thoughtfully given our Bhutanese roots. We aim to bridge any gaps that may arise when these two cultures meet and enjoy the best of both realms. We are based in Thimphu (Bhutan) with a small sales office in London (UK).

Travel Memories

What a trip! Elsa and I seriously loved every single day in Bhutan. Pure joy moments every day. We cannot say enough about our guide, Tashi, and our driver, Suresh. We laughed a lot and felt completely taken care of. They treated us like queens, were punctual every day and showed us their beautiful country.

Elsa and I learned so much about Bhuddism, the culture and, oh, those Dzongs! They were a highlight. I think we both took over 1,000 pictures.

You did an amazing job of arranging our itinerary. Tashi was exceptional with his knowledge of his country.
